1. Our Community Standard
IdleX is a peer-to-peer rental marketplace that helps people rent items they need and earn from items they already own. Our community works when users are honest, respectful, careful with other people's property, and clear about what they are offering or requesting.
These guidelines explain the behavior we expect from Renters and Owners (also called Lenders), and the actions we may take when these standards are not followed.
2. Our Core Principles
Be honest
Use accurate information in profiles, listings, messages, bookings, and reviews. Do not hide important defects, fees, restrictions, or problems.
Be respectful
Communicate professionally. Do not harass, threaten, discriminate against, or intimidate another user.
Be responsible
Treat rented items with reasonable care, follow agreed handover instructions, and return items on time and in the agreed condition.
Keep transactions transparent
Keep important booking, payment, handover, and damage-related communication on IdleX where practical so there is a clear record.
Protect privacy and safety
Do not share another person's private information without permission. Use sensible precautions when arranging a handover.
3. Rules for Owners / Lenders
Create accurate listings
Describe the item, condition, included accessories, specifications, availability, rental price, security deposit, and any important restrictions accurately.
Disclose known issues
Clearly mention existing damage, defects, missing parts, or other conditions that could affect normal use.
Use genuine photos
Use recent and reasonably accurate photos of the actual item being offered. Do not use misleading images.
Honor confirmed bookings
Make a confirmed item available at the agreed time and place unless a genuine circumstance prevents the handover. Repeated avoidable cancellations may lead to account action.
Set clear handover expectations
Agree on the handover location, timing, identification requirements, included items, and return expectations before the rental begins.
Make fair damage claims
Only raise claims for genuine loss or damage supported by reasonable evidence. Do not treat normal wear and tear as damage or inflate repair/replacement costs.
Do not discriminate
Do not refuse otherwise eligible users on the basis of protected or irrelevant personal characteristics. Apply your stated rental requirements consistently.
4. Rules for Renters
Provide truthful information
Use accurate identity, contact, booking, and payment information and complete any verification required by IdleX.
Use items only as agreed
Follow the listing instructions and use the item for its intended and permitted purpose. Do not make unauthorised modifications or repairs.
Inspect before accepting
Where practical, review the item at handover and raise pre-existing damage or missing components promptly, ideally with photos or video.
Take reasonable care
Protect the item from avoidable damage, misuse, loss, or theft while it is in your possession.
Return on time
Return the item at the agreed time and in the agreed condition, together with all included accessories and components.
Report incidents promptly
Tell the Owner and IdleX as soon as reasonably possible if an item is damaged, lost, stolen, or cannot be returned as agreed.
Do not misuse deposits
Do not attempt to avoid a legitimate obligation by creating false evidence, disputing genuine damage without basis, or refusing to communicate about an incident.
5. Communication and Conduct
Users must not use IdleX to:
Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or repeatedly contact someone after they have asked you to stop.
Use abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, or discriminatory language toward another person.
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, ownership, authority, or affiliation.
Send spam, scams, phishing links, malicious files, or deceptive payment requests.
Pressure another user into communicating or paying outside IdleX in a way that defeats platform safeguards or creates avoidable risk.
6. Prohibited Listings and Activities
Listings and transactions must comply with applicable law and IdleX policies. Do not list, request, or facilitate items or activities that are illegal, dangerous, or prohibited by IdleX, including:
Illegal goods, stolen property, or items you do not have the right to rent.
Weapons or other restricted items where their listing or rental is unlawful or prohibited by IdleX.
Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or other prohibited substances.
Hazardous materials, explosive materials, or items that create an unreasonable safety risk.
Counterfeit goods, fraudulent documents, or goods intended to facilitate fraud or other unlawful activity.
Any service or transaction that violates applicable law, court orders, or IdleX rules.
IdleX may restrict additional categories where necessary for legal, operational, or community-safety reasons. Users are responsible for ensuring that the item and proposed use are lawful.
7. Safe Handover and Return
Choose a sensible meeting arrangement
Use the agreed location and time. When practical, prefer a public or otherwise appropriate handover location and avoid unnecessary disclosure of private residential details.
Verify the booking
Confirm the item, booking dates, agreed charges, deposit, and any identification requirements before handing over the item.
Document condition
Both parties are encouraged to take clear photos or video before handover and after return. This can help distinguish pre-existing issues from rental-related damage.
Keep important communication recorded
Use IdleX messages for key changes, extensions, damage reports, cancellations, or other material agreements whenever possible.
Escalate safety concerns
Do not proceed with a handover you reasonably believe is unsafe, fraudulent, or unlawful. Contact IdleX support and, where appropriate, emergency or law-enforcement services.
8. Reviews and Ratings
Reviews should reflect a genuine rental experience and help future users make informed decisions.
Be truthful, relevant, and based on your actual transaction.
Do not post threats, personal attacks, discriminatory content, private information, or unrelated promotional material.
Do not offer or request money, discounts, or other benefits in exchange for a dishonest review.
Do not manipulate ratings through fake accounts, coordinated reviews, or reviews for transactions that did not occur.
IdleX may remove or restrict reviews that violate these guidelines or applicable law. Review decisions may consider available transaction records and other relevant information.
9. Privacy and Personal Information
Only share information necessary for the rental and handover. Do not publish or misuse another user's phone number, address, identification documents, financial information, private messages, photographs, or other personal information without a lawful basis or permission.
Users should also avoid sending sensitive documents through chat unless IdleX specifically requests them through an appropriate verification or support process.
10. Reporting a Problem
Please report suspected fraud, harassment, unsafe behavior, prohibited listings, false information, serious damage disputes, theft, or other significant policy violations as soon as reasonably possible.
Use the IdleX Help Center or contact support.
Include the relevant booking or listing details and a clear description of what happened.
Where available, provide useful evidence such as photos, videos, receipts, or relevant messages. Do not edit or fabricate evidence.
For immediate threats to life or safety, contact the appropriate emergency services first. IdleX is not a substitute for emergency services or law enforcement.
11. Enforcement
We may review reports and available platform information when we believe these guidelines may have been violated. Depending on the seriousness and circumstances, IdleX may:
Ask for clarification, evidence, or additional information.
Remove or restrict a listing, message, review, or other content.
Cancel or restrict a booking or transaction where appropriate.
Limit, suspend, or terminate an account or access to platform features.
Preserve relevant records and cooperate with law-enforcement or other authorised authorities where required or legally permitted.
Enforcement decisions may consider the severity, frequency, evidence, user history, safety impact, and applicable law. IdleX may take immediate action where there is a credible safety, fraud, security, or legal concern.
12. Examples of Unacceptable Behavior

13. Relationship to Other IdleX Policies
These Community Guidelines complement the IdleX Terms of Service and other published policies, including the Privacy Policy, Safety/KYC guidance, Security Deposit & Damage Policy, and Cancellation & Refund Policy. Where a specific policy provides more detailed rules for a particular situation, that policy should be read together with these guidelines.
14. Contact and Support
For questions about these guidelines or to report a community issue, contact IdleX through the Help Center or the support contact details published on the IdleX website.
15. Updates to These Guidelines
IdleX may update these guidelines from time to time to reflect changes in the platform, community needs, safety practices, or applicable law. The latest version published on the IdleX website will apply from its stated effective date.
